Sometimes sessions booked on short notice are some of the best ones that I shoot. Kaylie messaged and asked if I had ANY availability for a specific date. She told me about how she wanted new images with her husband for their first wedding anniversary (Let’s que the ‘awww’s shall we??) Better yet, when I arrived at their home for the session a week later, Kaylie had yet again set up their wedding alter decor and had the top tier of their wedding cake out. Not only was I happy to photograph such a special occasion, I was also so happy by how they wanted to include their pups in the pictures too. (I love dogs. Especially in pictures… I mean they are family too!)

Kaylie and Zack are still so in love. He was so good at making her laugh and being cuddly with her. It was just so clear that they are so right for each other. They are one of those couples you almost get sick over how cute they are. I’m so happy they chose me to photograph this time in their lives. We often act as if the wedding is the most important part of marriage because it’s the start, but honestly, it is the days, weeks and months after that are vital in creating a strong foundation for marriage. Anniversaries ARE important. They should be treated the same way as your wedding day. You’ll never get to re-live it. Embrace it. Just like Kaylie and Zack did.
