This couple is one that I grew a little closer with this year. I first met them on a snowy night at an Applebee’s in Ashland. Everything went so smoothly, we talked over details and I was so happy to have them book with us. Drew and Sam are beer enthusiasts. They love to tour breweries, taste test, and yes, even brew their own beer. It’s so awesome and such a unique hobby! I loved it when they said they were adding touches of this hobby to their wedding day. They even brewed their own beer for their guests. That is such a sweet touch to their day to thank their guests!
As the wedding day got closer, Sam’s world was rocked and it was heartbreaking to hear her go through. She had lost a few close loved ones, including her step-dad just a few weeks before her wedding day. I could not have prayed harder for Sam and her family. I wanted to do whatever I could to reach out to Sam and let her know I was thinking of her. Sam is so so strong. Drew was there for his bride in the days leading to their wedding day, it was an ultimate test of strength and love. Although I understand cancelling a wedding because of a death, I think Sam did something even more special for her family and friends by giving everyone (including herself) a day where they could celebrate love, family, and the joys of life.
Sam and Drew are an amazing couple. Their wedding day was filled with so many new happy memories, not only between them but their family and friends. It was incredible to capture. With a ‘Sweet Caroline’ sing a long to end our time with this couple, Jonathan and I were completely blessed to spend that friday with this fun and energetic group!
